Design Sheetmetal - Architectural Cladding - Timber Cladding, Service Excellence and Exceptional Quality !

Design Sheetmetal - Architectural Cladding - Timber Cladding, Service Excellence and Exceptional Quality !
Timber Cladding :

Timber is a classic material that has been increasingly popular used for external and internal cladding applications due to it's beauty and ability to blend into the surrounding environment.

The success of timber cladding requires good design, skilled workmanship, a quality sealer or stained finish that minimizes the stress on timber. It also requires a commitment by the building owner to ensure regular maintenance is carried out, to guarantee the cladding continues to perform as the building owner expects.

The ongoing up keep and maintenance schedules required to keeping natural timber from fading, warping, splitting and ultimately ageing prematurely often leads people to choose an alternative.

TIMBA® Metal Cladding is a durable alternative to timber that delivers the natural beauty and warmth of timber whilst boasting a range of practical benefits.

Easy To Maintain :

For the most part, an occasional wash down is all that's required to keep your exterior wall cladding looking great.

Strong, Durable And Secure

TIMBA® Metal Wall Cladding is roll-formed using a Zincalume® substrate; the strength of corrosion resistant steel provides a long-lasting protection for your project. The superior oven-baked finish from DECOWOOD® powder coating resists chipping, flaking and blistering in normal weather conditions.

Time And Cost-Saving Installation

Available in lightweight, continuous length sheets means it’s quick and easy to install. The “secret concealed fixing” system provides an aesthetic appeal of an uninterrupted visual surface and distinctive recessed express joint.

Energy Efficient :

TIMBA® Metal Wall Cladding can be supplied with a 20mm Styrofoam backing which adds strength to the pan and reduces the heat entering and leaving your project. It also assists in keeping energy bills down.

Design Freedom A Cladding Choice For Any Location :

Timba wall cladding is available in a range of 13 designer finishes reflecting the natural grains and colour variation consistent with that of real timber. Ideal for coastal and bushfire prone areas, TIMBA® Metal Cladding provides a cladding choice for any location.

Design Sheetmetal - Architectural Cladding - Corten Cladding, Service Excellence and Exceptional Quality !

Design Sheetmetal - Service Excellence and Exceptional Quality :

Our dedication to customer service ensures that all requests and orders are manufactured to the highest standard on time and delivered on site exactly when needed.

Weathering steel, best-known under the trademark COR-TEN steel or Xlerplate®. This product exhibits superior corrosion resistance over regular carbon steel as a result of the development of a protective oxide film on the surface that provides a unique rustic appearance. The layer protecting the surface develops and regenerates continuously when subjected to the influence of the weather. Thus Corten does not need to be treated in any way prior to installation for longevity.

Corten steel has become increasingly popular with sculptors and as a unique architectural feature. When used correctly it blends with and compliments it’s natural surroundings. Shades of red, brown and orange become more texturally interesting as rain and sun exposure adds runs and lines, creating deeper or lighter tones to the rust effect.

Corten external cladding is most prominent in Diversaclad, Standing Seam and Areava panel. As a cladding material it is a cost effective and durable choice. Using Corten in an Interlocking panel or Standing Seam panel provides a significant advantage to installers due to its lightweight properties and ease of handling.

In contemporary architecture Corten steel can lend itself to all kinds of designs, perfect for both urban and rural contexts. Due to it’s industrial appearance it is expected that Corten will continue to increase in popularity among those searching for distinctive features and facades on their projects.

Corten steel is not rustproof in itself. If water is allowed to accumulate in pockets, those areas will experience higher corrosion rates, so provision for drainage must be made. The normal surface weathering of Coren steel can lead to rust stains on nearby surfaces. Staining can be prevented if the structure can be detailed so that water does not drain from the steel onto concrete where stains would be visible.

Design Sheet Metal - Architectural Cladding - VM Zinc, for Roofing and Cladding, With A range of Quality Products !

VM Zinc provides the freedom to create an architectural masterpiece which is difficult to realise with the use of traditional construction materials. The flexibility, malleability and versatility of zinc, combined with it’s elegance make it the perfect material for innovative building projects.
More importantly, it also provides the level of confidence from an award winning material that will perform today and for years to come. Zinc is a high performance, low maintenance material. It does not have a coating or varnish that wears out over time. In fact, zinc continues to develop a protective layer (patina) throughout its life and will self-repair imperfections or scratches.
For more information or advice on VM Zinc Cladding to suit your specific needs contact us.

Natural or “mill finish” zinc has a shiny metallic surface similar in appearance to aluminium. The natural patina modifies the shiny finish to a natural, light grey textured finish. The light grey patina takes between 6 months to 24 months to form, depending on the atmosphere and climate. Natural Zinc has a luminous nature, and its nuances change constantly.

QUARTZ-ZINC or “Pre-weathered Zinc” offers an appearance and texture close to the natural patina developed over time by the Natural zinc. Quartz Zinc is highlighted by its earthy graphite appearance. Commonly used because of its ability seamlessly blend with other materials and finishes.

ANTHRA-ZINC is renowned for its most beautiful natural aspect, its striking matt black velvety texture. Similar to that of charcoal or slate ANTHRA-ZINC is highlighted by a fine visible grain and blends harmoniously with all other natural materials including concrete, stone, glass and wood.

Zinc is known for its elegant shade of grey. But just imagine what a subtle shade of red, green or blue can contribute to your creation.

The PIGMENTO® range is a new cutting-edge colour palette that is sure to inspire creativity.

From the stunning warm earthy tones of Autumn Red®, the natural leafy calming Lichen Green®, to the peaceful flowing feel of the Ash Blue®, and contemporary yet timeless PIGMENTO® Brown that completes the range.

VMZINC PIGMENTO® is constantly changing with the light, the natural surrounding textures providing an ambience to reflect an organic and mineral lifestyle.

Design Sheet Metal - Architectural Cladding - Standing Seam, With A range of Quality Products !

The Standing Seam cladding system is one of the most versatile cladding systems available. It is suitable for both roofs and facades,  making it an ideal choice for challenging projects. The Standing Seam system is the most adaptable cladding profile lending itself to flat, curved, concave, convex, conical and domed applications. It inspires creative freedom, allowing architects and designers to share and explore relationships with surrounding landscape and transcend the local environment.

In all architectural projects it’s a combination of both form and function and we choose between what we show and what we hide. The Standing Seam cladding system not only catches the eye but it’s subtle play of shadows and response to light can reflect the mood and ambiance of the building envelope.

The streamline low height of the seams (25 mm and 38 mm) contributes to its architectural design and offers flexibility when working on more complex designs and structures. With a taut and regular appearance it is particularly suitable for very large cladding surfaces and for structures located in regions of harsh climate, which are often subject to coastal spray, snowfall, strong winds, and heavy rain.

The Standing Seam system requires two panel seams (male and female) to lap each other. It is laid on a continuous decking, each panel is secured with concealed clips spaced approximately 300mm apart (sliding and fixed clips are used for expansion and contraction reasons - see installation manual.) Each panel is crimped securely together with the use of special tools.

Standing Seam Cladding is one of the easiest systems to use when challenged with multiple windows, doors and complex shapes. The detailed arrangements required to integrate from flashing to panel is made all the more easy by choosing the Standing Seam system. This integration needs to be seamless otherwise it can detract from the entire project aesthetic.

Standing Seam panels are rolled formed and can be adjusted to suit between windows and door ways. The unique ability unlike other conventional cladding profiles whereby altering the pan width (large or smaller) to suit project needs.

The Standing Seam Cladding range is available in most finishes, VM Zinc, Colorbond, Aluminium, Copper and Corten offering greater design flexibility.

Architectural Cladding Goods - Interlocking Panels, With A range of Quality Products @ Design Sheet Metal !

http://www.designsheetmetal.com.au/

Diversaclad is the brand name for a contemporary wall cladding system, designed to be used both internally and externally. With a system of interlocking panels, the product is lightweight and can be laid diagonally vertically or horizontally, providing architects and designers a multitude of design possibilities. Suitable for both commercial and domestic applications, this system does not require a support decking; it can be laid directly onto a secondary sub-structure in the form of top hat battens or timber studs to form a cross section of rails. These rails run in the opposite direction to the facade at 600mm centres. The finished product is visually striking and is often used as a second storey facade for its minimalistic appearance, aesthetic appeal and low maintenance requirements. With the incorporation of a styrofoam backing option which enhances the embodiment of each panel, it is also ideally suited for single storey applications, high volume traffic areas and interior design.

The Diversaclad system uses the tongue and groove principal enabling quick and easy installation with concealed fixing. The interlocking joint allows both panels to be joined strongly together to make a continuous flush surface. A particular advantage is the ability to customize the panel cover. Panel widths can vary from 200 mm – 300 mm and the reveal / express joint can also range from 55mm-30 mm. There is also the choice to taper panels which offers a uniquely elegant appearance.

The combination of VM ZINC and the interlocking panel system rewards inspired architecture with its response to light, providing a harmonious relationship between other building materials and finishes. With so many possibilities it is an ideal choice for both traditional and contempory design. VM Zinc is synonymous with the well known elegant shades of grey but now has a cutting edge colour palette with PIGMENTO® providing stunning textures. With the ability to transition this product from outside to indoors, VM Zinc is perfect for dressing interior walls, bulkheads or ceilings, adding a uniquely inviting atmosphere and enhancing our way of living.
